The Yamaha SEQTRAK is a portable little synth that gives you more options than you might expect upon first glance. It's clearly aimed at producers, composers and musicians that are always on the move, and definitely fits the age of the smart device we're in currently living in.The Yamaha SEQTRAKBack in the day, 'portable' gear simply referred to slimmed-down gear that had nowhere near as much to offer as bits of kit that weren't designed to be lugged around. Fortunately, times have changed. The SEQTRAK hooks you up with eleven tracks, including seven drum tracks, two AWM2 synth tracks, a DX track and a sampler track. On top of that, you're set up with a solid stack of effects, a sequencer, an arpeggiator, a 24-bit/44.1 kHz, stereo USB audio interface, and USB-MIDI. The included sample-based AWM2-engine is the same one that powers many Yamaha synths and keyboards, and boasts over 2,000 sounds and a 128-voice polyphony, while the DX engine is an 8-voice/4-operator FM engine. In other words: options a-plenty!And There's MoreOver on the right, the SEQTRAK has been outfitted with a streamlined sound-tweaking section. Over on the left, you're looking at two rows of eight sequencer steps - just enough to label it an x0x-style lay-out. In terms of sampling, you get a built-in microphone as well as a built-in speaker, so you don't have to fuss with external monitors and, lastly, the AWM2 engine spares several hundred MBs worth of storage capacity for custom waves, so what are you waiting for?

While the ultra-clean lay-out doesn't exactly make it look like a traditional Roland keyboard, the GO:KEYS 3 definitely offers Roland-grade performance thanks to the built-in ZEN-Core engine - the same sound engine that you can find under the hood of the Japanese brand's high-end synths and stage pianos. The Roland GO:KEYS 3As minimalistic as it may look in terms of physical controls, the Roland GO:KEYS 3 is nothing short of fully loaded when it comes to sounds and rhythms.

Loaded with mechanical instead of analogue or digital oscillators, the Gamechanger Audio Motor Synth MKII is truly something else. More specifically, this unique synthesizer comes equipped with eight little DC motors that generate sound with the help of IR sensors and electromagnetic pickups. While not exactly mainstream, the Motor Synth boasts three deeply unique voices that can be tightly steered in any sonic direction. The Gamechanger Audio Motor Synth MKII: The First Electro-Mechanical Synthesizer EverSince spinning oscillators alone isn't enough for fresh sounds, the Motor Synth MKII also sets you up with multi-filters, envelopes, LFOs, motion-sequencing and more. The built-in motors serve up sine, saw and square waves plus an M-waveform generated by electromagnetic pickups planted at the base of each motor. Also, while this is the world's first electro-mechanical synth, its flashing lights and moving parts are by no means gimmicky as, ultimately, this singular synthesizer may just give adventurous sound-sculptors exactly what they've been searching for.
