It all started on a cold winter's day back in February of 1978 when Eddie van Halen appeared on the front of Van Halen's debut album holding his one-of-a-kind black-and-white Strat. Now, you can get your hands on a devoted remake in the tight form of the EVH Striped Series '78 Eruption Relic - named after Eddie's legendary soloing style. If any Eddie fan has done their homework, they'll know that he spent his life searching tirelessly for the ultimate tone - anything that might match the sound in his head. Since no guitar in existence could match up, he took matters into his own hands and just built them himself. As such, his custom black-and-white axe was the first Strat ever seen - or heard with a humbucker - and it caused a revolution. Blending Original Features with Modern Perks Every inch of the EVH '78 Eruption mimics Eddie's original, but as soon as you start digging into the specs, you'll find a nice fistful of more modern perks have been piled on top. So besides the single slanted EVH Wolfgang humbucker planted at the bridge, this model features the convenience of a heel-mount truss rod, making neck adjustments far easier, while the compound 12 inch to 16 inch fretboard radius provide far more consistent grip than the 7.7 inch or 9 inch radius of vintage models from back then. The oversized, licensed Strat headstock is an undeniably cool detail, as well as the 43mm brass block sitting beneath the vintage-style tremolo bridge, and as a sweet finish, the volume pot has been fitted with a tone-pot-cover - true Eddie style.

The 1937 Hauser which was first built by master-luthier Herman Hauser for the guitar virtuoso Andres Segovia, is now on display in the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Segovia himself declared it the greatest guitar of its age and, in the elegant form of the Cordoba Hauser classical guitar, is paid due homage. This singular model has been hand-built in California using a seamless blend of traditional and modern methods and by luthiers who were allowed full access to the original model. The wood selection, the panel thickness, the bracing structure... every detail has been echoed and then lightly enhanced with contemporary tweaks to result in the sensitively perfected Cordoba Hauser. Tradition Meets TechnologyThis classical guitar has an all-solid construction, starting with a solid Engelmann spruce soundboard and finishing with the solid rosewood back and sides. The cedar neck has been topped with an ebony fretboard and secured to the body via the same Spanish heel technique that Hauser originally used, extending the neck further through the body to raise the stability, durability and resonance. More modern and welcome tweaks include the addition of a dual-action truss rod so the action can be customised and the neck can be corrected as needed, as well as a coat of nitrocellulose lacquer which protects the wood while allowing it to breathe and mature naturally. Maximum ControlThe spruce and rosewood combination doesn't only complete an elegant and traditional look but gives this guitar its pure and direct sound, strong projection and defined overtones. This rich tonal quality also gives any guitarist plenty of space for expression, where the clarity and intonation immediately responds to playing dynamics and finger placement. In short, the Cordoba Hauser offers the professional concert guitarist inspiring playability. This singular model comes complete with a Cordoba Deluxe Humidified Archtop Wood Case.
