Le câble multipaire PW08X PolyWIRE XLPE est en passe de devenir la norme en matière de câbles de studio et d'installation fixe. Il s'agit d'un câble multipaire composé de huit paires de deux conducteurs torsadés chacune (avec une section de conducteur de 0,22 mm²), entourées d'un blindage composé d'un drain de masse tressé en cuivre étamé et d'un film d'aluminium. La gaine des paires est en PVC et codée par couleur et numérotée, ce qui rend l'étiquetage superflu. Les propriétés de ce câble garantissent une transmission parfaite et précise du signal.Isolation XLPE : résistance élevéeLe modèle PW08X de Klotz présente également une isolation en XLPE (ou polyéthylène réticulé). Celle-ci présente de nombreux avantages par rapport au PVC, tels qu'une plus grande résistance à la traction, à l'élongation et aux impacts ainsi qu'une plus grande résistance au phénomène d'arborescence d'eau. De plus, le polyéthylène réticulé ne fond pas et ne se rétracte pas même à des températures élevées, comme lors de la soudure. Enfin, il convient parfaitement comme matériau à faible dégagement de fumée et sans halogène, il est donc sûr ! Pour la gaine du câble, Klotz a choisi un PVC robuste mais très flexible, qui n'aura pas tendance à faire de boucles et qui restera toujours bien à plat au sol. Cette variante présente une longueur de 15 mètres.
