Une belle chaise de bureau de haute qualité du fabricant Knoll International. Elle possède une base en croix en métal chromé sur roulettes et le siège est réglable en hauteur. Elle est nouvellement rembourrée en tissu gris Kirby Fleck de haute qualité. C'est un beau tissu doux que nous avons choisi spécialement pour cette pièce parce qu'il se marie si bien avec le design. Ila un siège très confortable avec des accoudoirs hauts et une belle assise profonde. Cette magnifique pièce ferait un excellent ajout à l'espace de bureau. Elle reste en très bon état d'origine. Rare fauteuil moderniste d’origine et d’époque années 30, structure en métal tubulaire chromé, assise, accoudoirs et dossier en Bakélite noire réalisé pour Thonet par Emile Guillot. Il est intéressant de remarquer la fait que l’assise ne soit par directement reliée à l’arrière pour donner plus de souplesse.

Nehru and the Chandigarh government hired Swiss-French architect Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier, to create a master plan for the city. Named for Chandi, Hindu goddess of power, Chandigarh was Le Corbusier’s largest and most ambitious project, involving residential, commercial, and industrial areas, parks, and a complex of government buildings.In turn, Le Corbusier insisted on hiring his cousin Pierre Jeanneret to design the city’s furniture. Jeanneret designed furniture for the entire complex, using locally-sourced teak, which was bug- and humidity-resistant. For Pierre Jeanneret, the Chandigarh project was the pinnacle of his work as an architect and designer. The project affected him profoundly; he remained in Chandigarh after the city’s construction was complete, rarely returning to Europe.When Chandigarh begun to deteriorate, nobody knew what to do with the remaining furniture and much of it was destroyed as people had no interest in the furniture. Pieces like this are therefore very rare and because of their historic value, much sought-after.This chair remains in very good vintage condition, it has wear consistent with age and use and preserves a beautiful vintage patina that truly compliments this iconic piece.Pierre Jeanneret (22 March 1896 – 4 December 1967) was a Swiss architect who collaborated with Le Corbusier for about twenty years. In 1922, the Jeanneret cousins set up an architectural practice together. They designed many buildings, including a number of villas and vacation houses, and renovated existing buildings as well. Their working relationship ended when Pierre joined the French Resistance and Le Corbusier did not. However, they collaborated once again after the War, on the plan and architecture for the city of Chandigarh in India as mentioned above.
