Élégante et sophistiquée, style Hollywood Regency, table d'appoint en laiton et verre conçue par Vico Magistretti à la fin des années 70 pour Cattelan.Le Travertin et le verre sont tous deux en parfait état. Le laiton a de la corrosion.Cette beauté sera expédiée à l'étranger dans une caisse en bois faite sur mesure.Vico Magistretti est né le 6 octobre 1920 à Milan, en Italie. Il était le fils d'un architecte. Pendant la deuxième guerre mondiale, pour éviter d'être déporté en Allemagne, il quitte l'Italie pendant son service militaire le 8 septembre 1943 et s'installe en Suisse. Pendant son séjour, il a enseigné à l'université locale et a suivi des cours au Champ Universitaire Italien à Lausanne.Lors de son séjour en Suisse, il a rencontré Ernesto Nathan Rogers, qui s'est avéré être son maestro. Selon The Guardian, il est rapidement passé sous l'influence de l'architecte Ernesto Nathan Rogers, dont les idées humanistes pour la reconstruction de l'Italie d'après-guerre ont inspiré toute une série d'intellectuels. A cette époque, Magistretti a participé aux travaux de l'extraordinaire quartier expérimental de la périphérie de Milan, connu sous le nom de QT8, où un groupe d'architectes et de planificateurs ont été laissés en toute liberté. Magistretti a construit son église ronde poétique.Il revient à Milan en 1945 et obtient son diplôme de l'Université Politecnico di Milano en 1945.Après avoir obtenu son diplôme, il a travaillé dans l'entreprise de son père, Pier Giulio, avec l'architecte Paolo Chessa.Il a d'abord travaillé dans le domaine du design urbain à Milan. Dans les années 1950, il s'est lancé dans la production en série de meubles et de lampes. Certains sont devenus des pièces de musée. Entre autres, il a travaillé pour les entreprises suivantes : Artemide, Cassina, De Padova, Flou, Fritz hansen, Kartell, Schiffini.Selon The Guardian, son premier grand succès est venu avec la célèbre chaise Carimate produite par la société Cassina. La chaise a été un best-seller pendant des années et mêlait la simplicité rurale (la paille du siège) à la sophistication urbaine. Il y avait les lignes lisses des supports et des pieds en bois, la couleur, le cadre rouge vif pop-art et les éléments du design scandinave.

This rare table lamp was designed by Vico Magistretti for the Italian manufacture Artemide during the 1960s. The lamp is made of red plastic. Dalù is one of the best designs to reflect the strict style of the great artist, who placed beauty and everyday use on the same level.Vico Magistretti was born in Milan. He attended Parini High School before enrolled in the Regio Politecnico Faculty of Architecture in Milan in the fall of 1939. In 1943-1944 he moved to Switzerland, where he attended several academic courses at the Champ Universitarie Italien in Lausanne. It was then that he spent time with Ernesto Nathan Rogers, who had a key influence on his intellectual education. In 1945 he returned to Milan, where he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic University. He immediately started working for his father’s company, the architect Piergiulio Magistretti, in via Conservatorio. The 1950s were a very busy and fruitful period for the young architect, who came up with many innovative ideas and very quickly became one of the most outstanding representatives of the third generation. Over the next few years he worked as a designer as well as an architect, creating furniture and objects that will always be classics of contemporary production. It was then that he was awarded the Golden Compass for the Eclisse lamp (1967). Moments later, he started working with important companies such as Artemide, Campeggi, Cassina, De Padova, Flou, Fontana Arte, Fritz Hansen, Kartell, Olivari, Oluce, Poggi, Schiffini Mobili Cucine and Gebrüder Thonet Vienna. His design works are in the permanent collection of MoMA - Museum of Modern Art in New York and in many other museums in America and Europe. In the field of architecture, it is worth mentioning his nomination as an honorary member of the Royal College of Art in London, where he was also a visiting professor. He also participated in exhibitions and conferences in Europe, Japan and the USA.Established in the 1960s, Artemide is one of the most famous lighting brands in the world. Known for its philosophy, The Human Light can boast a high track record in lighting design and innovation. The company has timely filed multiple invention patents in order to develop innovative technological, mechanical and optoelectric solutions.
